In relation to laboratory markers, lymphopenia (Z = 2.50; p = 0.012), thrombopenia (Z = 2.40; p = 0.016) and higher levels of serum LDH (Z = 2.89; p = 0.004), C-reactive protein (Z = 2.86; p = 0.004), procalcitonin (Z = 3.58; p < 0.001) and IL-6 (Z = 2.82; p = 0.005) were associated with mortality (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and lymphopenia.
