CLDN4 and colitis: The results showed a reduction in thelevels of occludin (Figure 2B), ZO-1 (Figure 2C), and claudin-4 (Figure 2D) and an increase in claudin-2 (Figure 2E) protein expression in the colitis group.These findings were associated with the displacement of ZO-1 to thebasal region of the cell and the absence of claudin-4 staining inthe basolateral regions of the colitis group.
