Variants in the ADARB1 gene, located in a region probably linked to familial bipolar disorder and whose product has an action in the editing of the pre-mRNA of glutamate receptor B subunit, have been associated with suicide attempt vulnerability, along with recent stressful life events and childhood trauma in patients with MDD, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia [41]. The gene discussed is ADARB1; the disease is major depressive disorder.
