The study identified five circulating proteins associated with the steatosis grade in the liver: Cathepsin O (CTSO), Cadherin 2 (CDH2), Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily A member 5 (LILRA5), and Serpin B6 (SERPINB6); and Prolyl endopeptidase (FAP). Here, CTSO is linked to steatosis.
