LncRNA, like any other protein coding gene, is regulated by the same epigenetic mechanism, and DNMT1 can regulate its expression (Lee, 2012).Finally, the expression of a non-coding RNA called LncRNA MEG3 is inhibited in children with aplastic anemia (AA) due to high levels of DNMT1 expression, which can lead to lower levels of bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) transcriptional activity and impair the process of creating bone cells from BMSCs in AA patients (Li H. et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene BMP4 and idiopathic aplastic anemia.
