Several studies involving both animal and human participants have examined the biological mechanisms linking air pollutants and the onset of psoriasis.36 These investigations posit that air pollution potentially exerts detrimental effects on the skin through various mechanisms, including affecting skin microbial flora, activating aromatic hydrocarbon receptors, inducing inflammatory reactions, and oxidative stress.37 These mechanisms may be similar to the pathogenic mechanisms of psoriasis. Here, AHR is linked to psoriasis.
