MPO and acute kidney injury: Nevertheless, SS administration reduced MPO activity (431.4 ± 28.52 vs. 348.1 ± 25.24, p˂0.05) and elevated SOD (183.4 ± 16.14 vs. 238.4 ± 18.74, p˂0.05) and GSH-Px (45.3 ± 4.07 vs. 72.8 ± 6.76, p˂0.01) activities in the kidney of CI-AKI rats (Fig. 4A-C), suggesting the antioxidant effect of SS on CI-AKI.
