Bone mineral density (BMD) is affected in MS subjects8 who can often develop secondary osteoporosis9,10 due to reduced mechanical stimulation, deficiency in Vitamin D levels, and a secondary increase in intact parathyroid hormone (PTH)8,11 but also due to the use of certain drugs, e.g. during glucocorticoid therapy12. This evidence concerns the gene PTH and myeloid sarcoma.
