High cytoplasmic CXCR4 expression was associated with younger age (p = 0.008), higher histologic grade (p = 0.007), and a better pathologic stage (p = 0.045), whereas high CXCL12 expression was associated with bigger tumor size (p = 0.045), lymph node metastasis (p = 0.005), and advanced pathologic stage (p = 0.017). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL12 and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
