CXCR4 and inflammatory breast carcinoma: At the MDACC, Cabioglu et al. previously demonstrated that patients with inflammatory breast cancer (n = 44) had 41% (n = 18) high CXCR4 and 23% (n = 10) high CCR7 expression levels based on immunohistochemical staining associated with worse prognosis that was not found to be statistically significant (5-year OS:24.8% for CXCR4 (+) versus 42.3% for CXCR4 (−); p = 0.53 and 5-year OS:20% for CCR7 (+) versus 41.9% for CCR7 (−); p = 0.24, respectively) [16].
