CXCR4 and Ullrich congenital muscular dystrophy: UCMD pericytes were further characterized by the activation of CXCR4 signaling, a factor controlling pericyte recruitment, proliferation, and pericyte-induced basement membrane deposition during capillary network assembly [55], suggesting an enhanced angiogenic response, which was confirmed also by the diseases and biofunction analysis, together with the inhibition of the epithelial–mesenchymal transition and the activation of the organismal death process, which indicate that cells lose their mesenchymal features and activated pro-apoptotic signaling.
