Additional genes associated with IBD development and the immune response, pathogen detection, or intestinal barrier integrity include IL10 [38,78,79], IL-10 receptor (IL10R) [38,79,80], IL-23 receptor (IL23R) [38,40], IL-1 receptor alpha (IL1RA) [80], autophagy-related 16-like 1 protein (ATG16L1) [38,81], immunity-related guanosine triphosphate M (IRGM) [38,81], Protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 2 (PTPN2) [38,80], cadherin 1 (CDH1) [38], hepatocyte nuclear factor 4-alpha (HNF4-α) [38,40], and unc51-like autophagy kinase 1 (ULK1) [43], among others. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and inflammatory bowel disease.
