Acyl-CoA dehydrogenase medium chain (ACADM) [83], pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase isozyme 1 (PDK1) [83], and fission 1 (FIS1) [83] mitochondrial genes are associated with UC, SLC22A5 [85,86], laccase domain containing 1 (LACC1, also known as C13orf3 and fatty acid metabolism-immunity nexus (FAMIN)) [85,87], glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) [85], and GPX3 [85,88] with CD, while aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 family member (ALDH2) [64,85] and STAT3 [85,89] are associated with IBD in general. Here, ACADM is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
