Thanks to its ability to influence the microarchitecture and membrane organization, we provide here proof that even in cells continuously subjected to APP processing and the subsequent production of neurotoxic products, DHA seems to be capable of preventing the interaction between C99 and Rab5 proteins (Figure 5), thus improving the deleterious blockage of vesicular trafficking found in different models of AD as in the brains of patients. This evidence concerns the gene RAB5A and Alzheimer disease.
