Numerous studies have demonstrated that HSPs, including HSP70, α-crystalline, HSP40, and HSP110, increase the survival of retinal neurons in the model of glaucoma [34,35], optic nerve crush [35], polyglutamine diseases [35,36], autoimmune uveitis [37,38] and retinal detachment [39]. This evidence concerns the gene HSPA1A and autoimmune uveitis.
