The strengths of our study included its novelty, a high risk sample of youth with obesity who exhibit a greater incidence of BDNF‐related complications such as neurocognitive deficits (Liang et al., 2014), metabolic dysregulation (Krabbe et al., 2007), and reduced HRQoL (Tsiros et al., 2009) compared to peers without obesity. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and obesity disorder.
