We found that the functional astroglial connectivity in the SC and in V1 was inhibited in cKD mice compared to control mice (GFAP-creERT2, n = 18) (Figures 2B–2D; SC: control, n = 5; cKD, n = 6; p < 0.0043, U = 0, Mann-Whitney test; V1: control, n = 5; cKD, n = 5; p = 0.0079, U = 0, Mann-Whitney test), as assessed by quantifying the size of astroglial networks after biocytin injection (Figures 2B–2D). The gene discussed is GFAP; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
