To do so, we generated an astroglial conditional and inducible Cx30/Cx43 knockdown mice (GFAP-creERT2 Cx30fl/fl/Cx43fl/fl, cKD) (Figure 2A), in which the expression of gap junction subunit proteins is reduced by ∼75% for Cx30 and 90% for Cx43 in astrocytes from adult SC (Figure S2). Here, GJA1 is linked to chronic kidney disease.
