As PAOX was attributed a role in conferring the resistance of cancer cells to genotoxic agents [26], we revisited this potential function of the enzyme by comparing the sensitivity of naïve and PAOX1-overexpressing A549 cells (Figure 6a–c), Huh7.5 cells (Figure 6d–f), as well as PAOX-expressing vs. non-expressing glioblastoma cells (Figure 6g) to doxorubicin, cisplatin, and temozolomide. The gene discussed is PAOX; the disease is glioblastoma.
