For miR-185-5p, in which higher underexpression was observed among grade 3 EC compared to grade 1, it has been found that downregulation of TJP1 attenuates cell–cell aggregation and anchorage-independent growth in tumor cells in vitro [51], suggesting that overexpression of TJP1 (in advanced tumor grades) could stabilize tumor cells within connective tissue during tumor formation. This evidence concerns the gene TJP1 and neoplasm.
