We have shown previously that immunohistochemistry (IHC)-based Warburg-subtyping, based on the expression of six glycolytic proteins and transcriptional regulators (GLUT1, PKM2, LDHA, MCT4, p53, PTEN), was associated with CRC patient prognosis such that patients with Warburg-high CRCs had the poorest prognosis [22]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
