The observed reduction in cell proliferation and increased sensitivity to gemcitabine after SLC7A8 knockdown in KKU-213BGemR cells, along with the potential reduction in LAT2 when treated with a combination of curcumin and gemcitabine, likely lead to decreased metabolism of glutamine pathway and strongly suggest a direct link between LAT2 and gemcitabine-resistance in cholangiocarcinoma. This evidence concerns the gene SLC7A8 and cholangiocarcinoma.
