IL10 and cancer: In favor of this hypothesis, the work by Moraitis and colleagues on patients with B-cell-related disorders, including lymphomas, highlighted a strong inverse correlation between IL-10 and HDL cholesterol.35 By virtue of this inverse correlation, they speculated the existence of a cause–effect relationship based on the results of a randomized controlled trial involving patients with psoriatic arthritis and receiving recombinant human IL-10.35,36 Finally, as reviewed by Yu et al,37 several clinical trials are ongoing in the attempt to foster anti-cancer immunity by acting on lipid metabolism.
