We speculate that larger HDL particles might be able to remove excess cholesterol, stored in the tumor microenvironment, which is responsible for the exhaustion of CD8 cells.25,26 Moreover, as recently documented, HDL appeared to possess both antioxidative27 and antiangiogenic28 properties and to significantly interact with T CD4+ cells29; this might explain their antitumor activity. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and neoplasm.
