Genetically predicted fibroblast growth factor 5 (FGF5) was significantly positively associated with risk of AF [[odds ratio (OR): 1.07; 95% CI: 1.04–1.10; P < 0.01], and CD40l receptor was significantly negatively associated with risk of AF (OR: 0.95; 95% CI: 0.92–0.98; P = 0.02) in the meta-analysis study. Here, FGF5 is linked to atrial fibrillation.
