CD68 and cancer: In co-culture conditions with monocytes and CBX2-modulated cancer cells, compared with the control cells, we observed that CBX2 overexpressing cells increased the number of CD68-positive cells, and conversely, CBX2 knockdown and knockout attenuated the number of CD68 positive cells (Supplementary Fig. S4C), suggesting that CBX2 expression in the cancer cells is promoting monocyte differentiation into macrophages.
