In a recent study by Murakami et al. (2010), NDRG1 phosphorylation at Ser330 and Thr346 in pancreatic cancer cells was found to be essential for its tumor-suppressive function by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) signaling pathway and CXC chemokine expression (Murakami et al., 2010). The gene discussed is NDRG1; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
