Previous data indicate that hospitalisation due to cardiovascular disease had a cost of €2,146 (€4,947) in 2019 and decreased over time,40and hospital admissions for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (2DM) initiating treatment with glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists also had lower costs (mean [SD] 588.3 [1,642.6], data calculated in 2020 based on 2017-unit prices) than cITP patients and the total ITP population.
