Miranda et al. (2020) examined the effect of viable and supernatant cultures of S. cerevisiae on a mouse model of food allergy. They observed an attenuation of tissue damage and myeloperoxidase activity and a reduction in IL-17 levels, but no reduction in IgE and IgG anti-ovalbumin were obtained. They concluded that yeast had local but not systemic effects on the mouse model [ 36 ]. This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and food allergy.
