IL1B and infection: The comparison of G1 + G2 with G3 showed that the wild-type homozygote (T/T) genotype of the IL1β –511 polymorphism was more frequent in G3 (p = 0.007, OR = 0.042, 95% CI 0.22–0.78) and the heterozygous genotype was more frequent in individuals with the infection (G1 + G2) (p = 0.002, OR = 2.24, 95% CI 1.33–3.76) (Supplementary Table 1).
