Interestingly, we found that CPSF6-SV40 NLS and CPSF6-HNRNP K NLS conferred strong HIV-2 infectivity defects, with CPSF6-HNRNP A1 conferring a more modest infection defect (Fig 3D), as compared to the effects these three proteins had on HIV-1 infection (Fig 2A). Here, CPSF6 is linked to infection.
