The 37 infants with false positive test of MMP-7 were further diagnosed as idiopathic cholestasis (n = 22), CMV hepatitis (n = 1), choledochal cyst (n = 3), Alagille syndrome (n = 3), citrin deficiency (n = 1), PFIC (n = 1), parenteral nutrition-associated cholestasis (n = 3), inborn errors of bile acid synthesis (n = 2) and bile duct dysplasia (n = 1). This evidence concerns the gene MMP7 and cholestasis.
