In the present investigation, we showed that the lysosomal TRPML1 can trigger global Ca2+ signals, involving both Ca2+ release and Ca2+ entry, in human cerebrovascular endothelial cells, as recently shown for HeLa cells and primary cultured human skin fibroblasts (Kilpatrick et al., 2016), rat primary cortical neurons (Tedeschi et al., 2021), and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells (Boretto et al., 2023). Here, MCOLN1 is linked to breast cancer.
