ALB and Sepsis: Compared to normal albumin, hypoalbuminemia was significantly associated with a significantly greater likelihood of experiencing any complication (P < 0.001), sepsis (P = 0.033), blood transfusions (P = 0.003), non-home discharge (P < 0.001), readmission (P = 0.002), unplanned reoperation (P = 0.043), and LOS > 2 days (P < 0.001) (Table 2).
