We found that cancer-specific m6A was significantly down-regulated upon CAPRIN1 knockdown in the m6A-seq data (P = 0.0063, two-tailed Wilcoxon test) (Figure 5E), indicating that CAPRIN1 regulates the installation of these cancer-specific m6A. We also showed an example involving TP53, where m6A levels of cancer-related genes were significantly reduced in HepG2 cells with CAPRIN1 knockdown (Figure 5F). The gene discussed is CAPRIN1; the disease is cancer.
