PLCB1 and post-traumatic stress disorder: Depletion of PLCβ1 resulted in an exaggerated fear response, generalized fear memory (Fig. 1E), and impaired fear memory extinction (Fig. 1, G and H), which are core symptoms commonly observed with neuronal hyperexcitability (Figs. 2 and 3) in animal models of PTSD and with neuronal hyperactivity in individuals with PTSD (32–35).
