Performing a similar analysis on the 75 COVID-19 patients with no plasma IFNL2 detectable (Fig. 4b), there was a clear association between worse outcome and absence of IFNL2 with 11 of the 20 patients who died (55%) having no detectable IFNL1 compared to 25% of the overall cohort. This evidence concerns the gene IFNL2 and COVID-19.
