Our results demonstrated that H2O2-induced NPCs exhibited up-regulated secretion of inflammatory cytokines (IL-18 and IL-1β), ROS accumulation [38], and increased NLRP3 and Caspase-1 protein production, which, in the case of IDD, we speculated would cumulate in ECM degradation and NP tissue destruction. This evidence concerns the gene CASP1 and intervertebral disk degenerative disorder.
