CRH and Anxiety: Consistent with evidence showing a distinct role of CeAL CRF + neurons on threat-induced anxiety-states over basal anxiety under non-threatening conditions20,51–53, we did not observe an effect of CeAL CRF + neuron inhibition on the distance traveled, time spent in the center or frequency of center entries in the OFT (Fig. 3f–h and Supplementary Fig. 4A, D–H).
