Lastly, 34 of the PCBP2-regulated genes contained T2D-associated single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) or mapped to intergenic SNPs linked to T2D in the curated National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) GWAS Catalog (Figure 8D and Supplemental Figure 18B; P = 1.31 × 10–3), further underscoring that PCBP2 impacts genes with important roles in shaping glucose homeostasis.
