Given that the dysfunction we find in this stage of the AD mice is milder than outright autophagy deactivation (as reflected in the lack of SQSTM1/p62 accumulation), it is possible that as time progresses, other proteins may also begin to accumulate, such as DLG4/PSD-95 and SYT1 which are reported to be transported through the autophagic pathway [8,9,11,12]. Here, SYT1 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
