After filtering for expression in activated CD4+ T cells of promoter-capture Hi-C data-interacting genes, the rs12599402, rs9746695, and rs7203150 intronic enhancers of CLEC16A, C-type lectin domain containing 16A—a known T1D susceptibility gene (25), have long-range distal interactions over 250 kb with the SOCS1 and RMI2 promoters (Figure 3A; Supplementary Figure S1B).
