In 7-mo-old mice, we found that tauopathy mice with TMEM16F conditionally knocked out from neurons under Baf53b-Cre (PS19+ N-Cre+ 16Ffl/fl) had significantly fewer AT8+ neurons in CA1 compared with PS19+ N-Cre− 16Ffl/fl mice (Fig. 3 A and B), indicating that TMEM16F in neurons contributes to tau pathology. This evidence concerns the gene ACTL6B and tauopathy.
