SHH and cystic fibrosis: The findings supporting this conclusion are that an increase of Shh signaling in SF-D induced by SAG treatment can promote L-R asymmetric changes mimicking CF and a counter-acting inhibition of Shh signaling in CF-L/D caused by cyclopamine or SANT-1 inhibition can increase the levels of L-R asymmetric phenotypes to resemble those seen in CF-D and SF-D.
