Both YAP1 and TEAD were found to bind to NUAK2 super-enhancer regions in cholangiocarcinoma and mesothelioma cell lines, and acute overexpression of YAP1 upregulated NUAK2 mRNA and protein, while depletion of YAP1 or both YAP1 & TAZ each reduced NUAK2 expression [22]. This evidence concerns the gene NUAK2 and cholangiocarcinoma.
