Finally, our demonstration that the KIT‐induced sEV release is blocked by KIT inhibitors is consistent with the reported reduced numbers of EVs and disease markers in responsive GIST patients after treatment with the KIT inhibitor imatinib (Atay et al., 2018) and poses the question of whether blockage of EV release could partly contribute to the benefits of treatment.
