In 2017, in a case‒control study of 145 Wilms tumor patients and 531 cancer-free controls recruited from southern China, our team successfully genotyped four SNPs in the LMO1 gene (rs110419 A > G, rs4758051 G > A, rs10840002 A > G and rs204938 A > G) and demonstrated for the first time that only rs110419 A > G had a protective effect against developing Wilms tumor [20]. Here, LMO1 is linked to cancer.
