Considering that human neural progenitor cells (hNPCs) are the primary targets of ZIKV infection, and cerebral organoids encompass areas resembling the ventricular zone (VZ) where hNPCs predominantly reside, we firstly evaluated the RNA levels of hNPC markers SOX1 and SOX2 on day 4 and day 8 post-infection. This evidence concerns the gene SOX2 and Zika virus infectious disease.
