Autoimmune encephalitis is caused by autoantibodies against N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR), α-amino-3‐hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionic acid receptor (AMPAR), leucine-rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1), contactin-associated protein 2 (CASPR2), γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor (GABAAR), γ-aminobutyric acid type B receptor (GABABR), etc.[62]. This evidence concerns the gene CNTNAP2 and autoimmune encephalitis.
