DC subset sorting and assessment of antigen presentation ex vivo revealed that CD207+ (Langerin) CD103+ dermal DCs cross-present antigens to CD8+ T cells after recombinant VACV-OVA [112] immunization; however, not all populations of tissue migratory DCs were similarly assessed, such as the 25–40% that are Langerin-low and CD11b-low and associated with allergy and contact sensitivity [103,113]. This evidence concerns the gene CD207 and allergic disease.
