CCL5 and infection: We analyzed the expression of several host cell mRNAs and/or proteins during infection of A549 cells with the mutant viruses—specifically, IFN-β, IFN-λ1, CCL5 (C-C motif chemokine ligand 5), also known as RANTES (regulated on activation, normal T-cell expressed and secreted), TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor alpha), and STAT2 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 2).
