Therefore, serotonin 5‐HT1A receptors, 5‐HT2A receptors, adrenoceptor α1B, α2C, and dopamine D2 receptors are implicated in the pathology of BPSD in Alzheimer's dementia, and brexpiprazole's partial agonist or antagonist activities at these receptors may be responsible for its ameliorating effect on agitation in patients with Alzheimer's dementia.
