Microorganisms from the red complex, such as Porphyromonas gingiv (Pg), Treponema denticola (Td), and Tannerella forsythia (Tf), were identified in quite a large number among patients with cardiovascular disease (Pg = 40.3%, Td = 41.9%, and Tf = 41.9% of patients in group A). Here, TF is linked to cardiovascular disorder.
