Figure 1A shows high expression of IL-6 in HNSCC, while other CKs are predominantly expressed in benign lesions. Additionally, the balance of Th1/Th2 shifted toward Th2 in tumor patients, while it leaned toward Th1 in benign patients. The results of PCA revealed a significant separation of Th1 and Th2 CKs on the PC2 axis for patients with HNSCC, but not for those with benign lesions (Figure 2A and 2B). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
